I have a nice pair I purchased from Rick Staub last summer in Sac. They are awesome and thriving, only the male stoped taking food 8 weeks ago. I am offering fuzzies daily but no action. My buddy says this is normal for males in spring. Someone out there have any thoughts on this? Help!!!

Pretty dang normal. Welcome to keeping montane kingsnakes! Actually it can happen with any kingsnake/milksnake.

Your best approach here is to offer as cool and area in the cage as you can this time of year, and keep the heated area rather small. This may not entice the male to eat, but it will allow him to seek cool temps if he wants and enable him to conserve energy if he wants (not burn too many calories while he refuses food).
