I don't know if you saw the pic I had posted a while back that a few of us did a guessing game on sex and morph of panther it was but that was a pic of a 2 month old female and male panther (Sambava). I had ordered 2 females and got 1 of each. I knew it the second I opened the box. You could see the difference. Generally speaking, males have more of a grey color compared to females having a brownish color. Also males seem to have a brighter and more defined stripe running the length of their body, and a little bit lighter colored belly. Probably the most accurate way of telling, but also the hardest is the top of the tail, where the bulge would be, on males it's just a hair thicker than on females. But in many cases, males don't really bulge there at all until 3 months or so. Even when I knew I had a female and a male though, depending on their color, it can be hard to tell them apart. When they change to a darker color to get warm they can look the same. Try turning off the heating light for a few hours so they get cooled down a bit and they should go to just a basic light color. This is the color you want to judge them on. Wish I could help more but it's just hard to tell sometimes. Post a pic and everyone will guess. What did you order (1.1, 2.0 etc.)?

i was simply told that they couldn't sex them. that's all. so i couldn't tell you what i ordered! LOL! just 2 diegos. they are related anyways, so these will not be bred together, they were just way too good a deal to pass up.

Whoever you got them from probably just said that because they were young and they didn't want you to be mad if it wasn't what you ordered. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you got them from LLL? They keep advertising Deigos and they are very cheap (which I wish they weren't). So what do you want (Male? Female?)? A pair? Cause you know they'll be related right? There's a few people that are very good at sexing. Kammers are good at it and they mostly use the tail base taper thing which is pretty accurate, especially if you're getting a male. At least I hope they're right cause I just got a Tamatave from them. Looks to be right but it's only 2 1/2 months old.

yes, it is difficult to tell, i presumed i thought i was buying a male tamatave. but as it has grown i see that it is a female. o well i saw some nice tam's for sale in classified
yes, they are from lll, i think they actually just got more in too. i know they are related, i said that in one of my previous posts, it doesn't really matter what i get 1.1,0.2,2.0, these are my first panthers, so i'll be happy with whatever.

It'd be a bummer if you got 2 females lol you wouldn't even know what color ability they had! Oh well, then you'd have an excuse to get another panther (male) from someone else!
