The update on my 2008 hypo stripe:

5/23: 1 egg.
5/27: 11 eggs, prolapsed oviduct, trip to vet, calcium injection.
5/28: 3 eggs, prolapsed oviduct, trip to vet, oral calcium.
5/29: 1 egg.
5/30: 1 egg.

This morning, I handled her, and can feel 4 more eggs, several inches up from her cloaca. I found an article online that suggests gentle massage and exercise might help her move them on down.

She hadn't eaten for a couple of weeks (one fuzzy the day after her pre-lay shed on the 17th), so I offered her a live fuzzy this morning. She quickly ate two.

The eggs all look good, but time will tell I guess.

The egg on the far right is the single she laid back on the 23rd. The rest on the 27th through the 30th.

Opinions?

I would keep them ALL incubating.
They look good in this shot.
A little question, maybe, about the two on upper left but I think they all look ok

I would leave them all in full term but if you want to ease your nerves. Take a penlight or one of those very small mag lights and just put the light on the egg. Right up against the egg. Turn the lights off in the room of course and the good ones usually have a pinkish amber glow even if they have not developed veins yet. If they light up like a bulb and have a more clear or yellow tinge they are proabably infertile. If you see veins they're good for sure. You don't have to pick up the eggs or move them at all just shine the light from a top angle works really well!

I candled the eggs tonight, and was able to see veins in most of them, including the single that was layed earlier than the rest. Pretty cool.

Yes I am glad she ate. I didn't want to feed her too much since there are still eggs in there. Or should I feed her as much as she wants?

I might try candling tonight. How long does it take for veins to develope? One egg is 8 days old, and some are 4 days old.

Usually a week is enough time for eggs to be visible. If she will eat I would give her a bit more. It may even help push the eggs down?

Those four remaining eggs look huge inside her. They are 6 - 8 inches up from her cloaca. She ate a hopper tonight. She also looks like she is about to go "blue" for her post-lay shed.
