best I have ever found yet for mealies, supers and crix is chick feed, or laying mash. You can get it at farm co-ops or feed stores. It is cheap and full of vitamins and minerals.

Even if your on the right track you will get run over if you just sit there
20 leos,1.1 redtail boas,1.1 rainbow boas,1.1 cornsnakes, 1.0 tokay gecko,1.0 veiled cham, 5 dogs and a cat. Oh, can't forget Tater my parrolet.
I am relativly new at keeping a large number of mealies, I just got my first batch about a month or so ago. I bought plain whole oats at the grocery store, and ground them up into almost a poder in a food processor. The only problem I had was with some mold, but I am almost positive that was due to putting potato slices in. I ask others on the forum if it was okay to use the oats, and the people who responded said that it would be fine. Hope this helps.

I was told by someone that "gutload" by exoterra (or one of those brands)would be ok, expensive, but if I already had some, I could just use taht... is this true?

You have to give the mealworms enough bedding for them to swim in.
