here is another parasitic vermin in the crosshairs:

My vet actually recommended that I use the panacur with all of my dragons as a deworming agent. She claimed that the dragons are prone to getting all sorts of parasites worms etc.
She said it was a good preventative measure. She recommended the dosage and a week long treatment. I have read elsewhere that a 3-5 day treatment is sufficient.
I am a stickler about my food and cleanliness.
However, it is the nature of the beast.
The parasitic microorganisms are not innate and come from birth. They are rife and very common this is true.
With some of the micro-organisms the oocysts (eggs) can lay dormant for very long periods of time.
When an animals immune system is weakened with stress or otherwise compromised... the oocysts (eggs) will sporulate, multiply and spread attacking inner intestinal walls and the cells of the animal.
That is why you will find blood in stool etc. The inner walls of the intestines are being attacked at the cellular level.
According to my vet panacur is a good preventive measure to deworm and delouse. She recommended I do this treatment about once a year.
I use a suspension electrolyte fluid and it is imperative that the animal being treated stays well hydrated and also it is good to use a probiotic after treatment.
Brewers yeast and bee pollen are good immune builders, and I sometimes give my dragons a flush of olive oil.
Best regards
Also...
When doing a proper fecal exam you will need to examine the fecal matter over the course of an entire months period of time if not longer.
