iguanaboi May 31, 2010 03:56 PM

well it has ben three months now since i got my first rhino iguana, khaos, from tom crutchfield! and i cant tell you how much i love this lil guy (or girl), he is growing like crazy( now 21"@ nearly 8 mo) and eating any everything that isnt glued to his bowl at this rate he will be 2' long before he his 1 y/o.i give him a cat bowl filled with all kinds of greens, veggies, and fruits and there is nothing left over 90% of the time, and recently his appitite is slowly increasing were i have to give hima second smaller portion! he just finished his third shed about a week or so ago and has already starte a fresh one. i have already started the plans on his next enclosure its going to be 4hx2wx4l, its not his permanent enclosure just something for now to get him out of his 55 gal! i am so happy he is doing well, i just cant wait until he calms down, i have been pondering over hetting a harness and taking him outside for some natural sunlight and some bonding time, but he is so skiddish i would hate to have a accident occur and he managed to escape! thanks for looking everyone, and tom i cant thank you enough for this beautiful lizard!!!!!!!!!

You have certainly done a great job raising this minerature dinosaur. In about another year is when he begins to like you and want to interact with you. In my opinion Cyclura are the most rewarding herp to keep because they also respond to the keeper if the keeper treats them correctly which you certainly have. I love it when someone like you gets one of our precious little living gems. Patty sometimes cries when she has to put a special one in a box to ship as she's emotionally attached to them even more than I am. We call her "The Lizard Whisperer" and I've seen her take an adult cranky male like "Norbert" and in 6 months he's sitting on her shoulder. GREAT JOB and keep me posted on his progress.....
