Is this how dad does it?

I think theres somthing in there

We could see the rain comming down in the distance so we headed that way to find some toads & frogs. It was dark out by the time we got there, perfect for spotting them on the road.

The spots behind this big plains toad are spadefoots, there were tons of them!

cute kid

I hope to find spadefoots...they haven't been out after any of our rain storms yet, I don't know if maybe the temps were wrong or what, but we're 4" above average right now...other amphibians are all over though.

You see more rattlers *sigh* Cool snakes!
do you use digital cameras?

Dan,
Some of the best pics you've posted!

My favorite is the pic of you with your little guy on your shoulders reaching for the racer!

Get that thing blown up and hang it on a wall inside your house, man!!!

What is the thing that looks like a spider web full of caterpillars? I've seen the same thing before.

daneby Jun 04, 2010 12:41 AM

Andy,
I'm not sure. I think it must be some sort of shared cacoon or somthing, I'm probably wrong though. I see them alot this time of year.

They are called Tent caterpillars...very common in the Northeast like MI where I am originally from. They are very damaging to trees and we always killed (burned) them whenever we got a chance. In large numbers they can take out entire trees.

I take it those were rain clouds? Looks like an amphibian run there!
Oh, we have Tent cattepillars in Texas, too.
