The flash washed away most of his blue

Here is one without the flash, he does get more blue but seems to turn it off and on. It is a little blurry, sorry.

that's a beautiful animal
I've noticed too that sometimes Kismet seems more blue than other times. Then, last night, I was reading in The Little Blue Book that pure bred lewisi do indeed turn it on and off. It can be a dominance thing, a mating thing, and I'm not sure what else. According to the book,in the wild the dominant male will turn on full blue for the females and the females will get blue heads when trying to impress the guys.
Also, I do notice too that when Kismet is outside at optimum temperature she gets quite a bit of blue, though she is not a high percentage lewisi like your guy so I don't know if she would have the kind of control a higher percentage lewisi or a pure bred lewisi would have.

Wow! He's a beauty. I was curious as to who you got him from. He looks a lot like my Marley, who I got almost fully grown from a pet store years ago. They did not know where he came from... just said some guy lost interest in his reptiles and brought him there.
Ok, nevermind my last post... I just read that you don't know his lineage. Where in California did you get him? I sold a Lewisi about 4 years ago to a guy in the L.A. area that if I can remember looks similar to yours.
