is parakeet seeds good?

elplayboydr111 Sep 22, 2003 10:14 PM

i heard they were good? are they, anybody know? another thing i don't understand why uromastyx can't survive only on a iguana diet pellet, like the rep-cal juevenile iguana food, i gave her some she loved them, i know they're are not supposed to get alot of them just like 2-3 times a month which i will do because i would'nt risk her health for anything, but was just wondering because an iguanas diet is like exactly the same as a uro's, they pretty much eat the same exact thing, collard, mustard turnip, dandelion greens grated carrots, squash, edible wild flowers so i don't understand

As I understand it, you can't feed an iguana nothing but iguana pellets either. You can probably keep one alive, but it won't be able to get the total nutrition it needs, despite what the label says. Just like people, lizards need a varied diet to keep healthy.

Arthur gets juvie iguana pellets as part of his dry mix, but he doesn't seem to like them very much. He picks out the red lentils first, then eats everything else, and finally the pellets if I haven't replaced the good stuff.
