Ideal Enclosure for Leos...

dubumb Sep 22, 2003 10:17 PM

Hi,
I cant seem to find any good pictures of people's enclosures that they have for their leos... I was wondering what the ideal enclosure is for them, I've seen breeders just put them in wat looks like medium sized tupperware containers. What would be best for apx 4 baby leopards?

First i baught a 15g long as the breeder recommended, but then i figured the bigger the better so i found a really nice big plastic troft type container that was bigger than the 15g, and the plastic wasnt clear it was a white-ish so i figured maybe they would appreciate the big of extra privacy. What do you guys think?

Also what would make some good cage accessories? I have rocks and little huts for them to sleep in right now, but i'd like to add more for these little guys...

Thanks.

sounds good, make sure they have a humid hide and good heat. I use Sterlite containers when they are babies then move up to glass tanks as they mature.

And how did it get the name Tater? Sorry, i've just seen this a few times and thought i'd ask. I'm assuming it's a type of bird. But tater? Please shed some light, lol.

well a parrotlet is a tiny little parrot. They are slightly smaller than a love bird. They are amazing little things Sometimes called pocket parrots. They actually learn to speak just like some of the larger species. They come in a variety of colors. When I came up with the name I was calling somebody a tater head one day and he would jump up on the front of his cage and look at me and chitter real loud. Hence the name tater stuck.
He knows how to say his name already and is less than 1 year old.
