Surprise Hatchling

Dakman Sep 22, 2003 10:17 PM

Last week I found a hatchling in with my adults. took a couple days to get a good look and pic. Thought there was 2 but have only seen one. Tonight I came home and was making my rounds feeding Leos and then moved to Tokays. When I approched the Adult tank I noticed something scramble across the top, down the front, around the side and to the back. I know that style to well. I turned on the lights and sure enough i could see the baby in the tank in its usual spot. I grabed the flashlight and looked behind the tank and to my surprise was another baby loose. Its the same size as the one in the tank so must be its clutchmate and I have no idea how it got out. Its a little thin, nothing bad, so makes me believe its been out for awhile seeing their only bout a week old. Didnt take long to catch it but boy is it fiesty. Got rid of 3 today and now gained another not to mention 10 more eggs still cooking.

Too many to keep, I found a market at local pet stores to help me out.

I love Gekko hatchlings. My whiteline babies are a little friendlier. You look like you have little devils. They are cute anyways.

their really not that bad, mostly real fiesty just the first few times you handle them. After that besides not usually liking being caught they just sit on my hand, arm or shoulder and allow petting.
