My friend Scott over at Uwharrie sends me pics from time to time of what he's working on. A nice guy for sure, but he has fun at my expense making me drool. LOL. He knows I'm not much of a morph guy but I know some of you are so I thought you might like to look at this. The first one tempts me. The second one has me scratching my head but it is pretty striking I have to admit. Hope you enjoy.

this is just a guess but..

Scott bought some hypo Eastern x brooks from me about 10-12 years ago. I think he crossed that into the Goini and this high bright red is the result.

He should be proud of that and his breeding efforts. That is one killer looking snake.

Another thing that make me think he bred the eastern x brooks into the goini is the killer white heads that clucth has. My eastern x hypo came out with those white heads. And they retain them into adulthood. Making for some killer looking adults as the white heads exentuate when they are bigger.

I don't think you can get those white heads without the eastern in the bloodline. A goini x brooks croos would not have thoese white heads. That is what makes me think it is a 3 way.

Apalachicola x Floridana x getula

I'm sorry guys. I have no idea. I'll ask him if you want.

The Bells Hypos have been the cleanest I have ever seen but alas their record keeping isnt so great. Several guys here are trying to put the right ingredients together to produce them, and I think this one Scott has is as close as any. It has the brighter orange, not the burnt orange look. Hoping to figure out this Banana Hypo I got, as he produced his first f2 babies last year....but again he is more than just HYPO. That gene is variable for sure, but we dont have the recipe quite right yet. But this is the Yellowest king I've seen, patternless. His head scalation reminds me of a Indigo.

Just for comparison.

that looks just like my bone white male. The females are white and the males are patternless yellows.

check out the patternless head. NO MARKINGS! When it produces a a female from that line the color is changed to a light white color instead of the high yellow patternless males.

I have Scotts stuff from 3 years, 2 years and last years clutches. He has had some strange stuff pop up out of "known" genes even with all the intergrading. He is a good guy, and like me he believes in integrating for color and morph output. I can tell you that he does NOT have any BLAZE in his bloodlines. We are both trying to figure out the genetics to the Bell line, and I am awaiting eggs from my Bell line male x Scotts F3 hypo intergrade! These snakes are FUN!! He also had a albino pop out unexpectedly a while ago so should be expecting more strange stuff this year.
I know Rainer, Tom and Zenny are all trying to reproduce the cleanliness of the Bell line as well, but I really think the BLAZE actually takes away from the color(note them side by side). I'm also hoping for a clutch of eggs soon from the Bell line hypo x blaze goini....we shall see!

That thing rivals the best extreme hypo Honduran milksnake. Wow, what a great looking color for a big kingsnake.

I agree...
But....
I wonder what it will look like as an adult.....
Ontogenesis kills the colors in Floridana and Goini....
Too bad because I would own many if they held onto their color into adulthood.......

There is NO Chain king in that hot orange one. My figuring is that the odds just alligned....hypo/hypo, the goini/goini, and the randomness of patternlessness and the cleanliness of a Male(sex not confirmed, my opinion). This just exemplifies the HUGE range of colors and patterns possible within this line! Here is another one of Bells Firecrackers.

This one looks pretty big too and still keeping a lot of color. Nice one Jeff!

Scott sent me that pic of the orange guy the other day. At least he was nice enough to tell me to sit down before looking at the pic! lol

He really produces some wicked critters.....makes me very jealous!
