Ie there a certain type of incubator I need to get or one that anybody recommends?
Also assuming I start off with two breeding groups consisting of two males, eight females and all the females lay good eggs: How many incubators will I need?
I built my own out of a Wine Fridge. The inside dimensions are 31" X 21" X 19". With the way I set it up it will hold up to 6 clutches in 6 Qt Sterilite tubs. I own three incubators but I only plan on using two of them keeping them equally full. Building it is very easy if you have basic tool experience. You will need to buy about 3 feet of 11" Flex Watt Heat Tape, A Fan, and of course a very good thermostat. If you don't want to build your own Natures Spirit Sells a good one for a pretty descent price shipped. Than of course if you have a ton of money the sky is the limit.
Good Luck,
Bill

Or, if you plan on getting more snakes later on...you can build one out of a regular fridge with heat tape, some fans and a thermostat.
Or one of those big old square freezers. Or a Coke fridge.
Basically...if it holds heat and humidity well...you can make it an incubator.

Now I dont think this will happen but lets just say you have 8 breeding females and they all become gravid. Plus you will grow over the next year or two hopefully so you really should go ahead and start with the large fridge, freezer or coke machine size. I have a fridge with a glass door on the front of it and it holds somewhere in the area of about 40 to 50 6 qt egg boxes I think. Im working my way up and I will have about 20 boxes in it this year. I put (2) five and a half foot strips of 11 inch heat tape on the back wall of it and I run a 4 1/2 inch fan in it. I have a double payned glass door on the front of it so I dont have to open it everytime I want to see the eggs. I use a herp stat temp controller on it and it has worked just wonderfully over the last 2 yrs. Good luck and drop me a mail if I can be of any help, Jay from Sunny AZ

Ok, wow! Thanks for the replies so far. I guess making your own out of a fridge beats buying a $1675 prebuilt one with digital blah, blah and blah. You guys must be freaking whizes when it comes to that type of stuff. My mom has an old fridge I think, but I would need severe directions on how to convert it. You can send me an e-mail. It's jlsreptiles1980@gmail.com
You can look up youtube videos on how to make them.
