The Rare and elusive N. FL. Mole Kings

I had been on a personal quest for the last 3-5 years to try and find some of these critters. I think twice in 5 years had any been available that I'd known of, missed them by 20 minutes a few years ago and it stung bad. So when Bob A. decided to get off of his I couldnt jump fast enough. Here is one of em, the male I think as he just ate. Female is likely gravid too! Thanks Bob!! Fantastic snakes!!

You are on me because I had the locality wrong??? Its not like I said it was a cornduran. I'd say stand by your correction without the drama. But thats me.

chris jones Jun 07, 2010 08:38 PM

Once again, I will assume you didn't know what you were doing and let it slide.

I am not sure how, but I guess it's possible you didn't realize you were casting doubt on the validity of my offspring (though we have discussed this on the milksnake forum).

Good luck to you.

CHRIS--If this isnt condescending I dont know what is.....

I am not sure how, but I guess it's possible you didn't realize you were casting doubt on the validity of my offspring (though we have discussed this on the milksnake forum).

CHRIS--Casting doubt on the validity of your offspring?? Do you mean I was making a comment on your INBREEDING efforts or on someone else's OUTBREEDING efforts?? I take no sides, but morph production is morph production pure and simple. I'd guess you would feel comfortable being labeled as a Locality nut? Reread my post, I did say correct me if I'm wrong, but JESUS!

Good luck to you.

Chris--enough with the friggin drama. Its a pretty snake. Follow your own words, "let it slide"...

You were indeed mistaken. Your wording choice "Tony D special" is pretty sarcastic too, and carries a certain connotation. It was unfair to put that out on the web without knowing for sure.
Had you asked "Is it a Tony D special?" that would have been fine, but instead you passed judgement on it as if you were pretty sure it was.
That's how it appears to have played out to me.
Chris could have said "You're an idiot and dont know what you're talking about", instead.... he took a more careful approach and gave you the benefit of the doubt that maybe you just didnt know any better. I think that's fair.

Anyone could have simply corrected me without attitude, as that 1 liner meant no ill will. Isnt Tony D one of if not the most prolific hypo coastal producer? I passed no judgement on the "quality" of the animal, only educationally guessed on its origin. If anyone isnt allowed THAT levity WTF! You guys make it sound as if I knew exactly what it was and slammed it on purpose. Jesus. There is plenty of room for everyone to get along here isnt there?? I will tell you when I'm being sarcastic, dont make me break out my sensitive pants again! LMAO

daveb Jun 09, 2010 11:16 AM

jeff,
apparently they have not met tony d, if they had that would have been taken as an utmost compliment.
my goodness, if there's so much concern about what something is, label the photo, right across the snake's head...
whatever happened to the days when the forum was occupied by real men --lol--that wouldn't get diaper rash if the computer screen didn't show them just what they wanted. olalolalolaolaolaola!

OK, back into hibernation.

Why in the hell don't you guys at least act like grown-ups and get on the telephone or email one another and quit all the petty arguing on the forum. I thought it was going to be my chance to catch-up with the hobby after a 30 year brumation. But all I have learned so far is there are too many of you out there with egos too big to keep your mouths shut. If I am insulting anyone in particular - so be it. If the shoe fits, wear it. I think I can enjoy the hobby as a loner and get what I want from books.

Tony D Jun 10, 2010 10:36 AM

I think all you guys need to get a room. "Tony D special" WTF Jeff, it was meant as a dig and you know it and so does everyone else! They also know that coming from a cat that works with goini brooks crosses your take is meaningless. And Chris for you to take offense when you breed albino ruthven X thayeri crosses is a complete crock.

I'm not the only one who has crossed coastal localities, I'm just the one who admits it. So here's the point, I could have lied about my animals and you'd have never know. Just like you don't know with a 100% what you have now. Catch and put your own pairs together than you can say you have something pure but but given the hypocrisy here I wouldn't give a puss full of ice water for either of your words.

Jeff was trying to "muddy the water".

I sold a hypo to Chris Michelson last year and he frequents this forum. Jeff knows this and was trying to cast doubt as to what I sold him.

He did the same thing to me last year on the milksnake forum over some eastern milks.

I wasn't trying to get you and I wouldn't. You know that.

Sorry again for the mess,

Chris

Chris, the truth is I had NO negative connotation, and Tony doesnt have a "name"(ex:vivid line thayeri) associated with his coastals....so I said "special". I cant see how a 1 liner can have so many people on BOTH sides mad at me unless you are basically LOOKING for an arguement.
To be clear, I came out and apologized to you last year about considering the possibility of wc on blistered snakes. MY BAD. C.Nicholson got a hypo RED milk from me, and as far as I know was happy to get it. What HE didnt like was that I ASKED about St.Marys milks and patternless heads....and the "sensetive pants" were born.
I would say you havent given up the grudge and ASSUMED I was being negative. I wasnt, as I have said repeatedly. I want to apologize to Tony as well but I will do that privately, I dont mean to bring others into this. Chris, if you have a problem with me with a snake or whatever please feel free to PM me.

Tony D Jun 11, 2010 08:05 AM

Both of you guys have either associated or sided with people who have out right slandered me if not made your own derogatory comments for YEARS! My take is you will continue to do so. Chris in your case you don't even know who your friends are. Howie and I are the only ones that don't bust your balls behind your back and I'm the only one who defended you when the Maryland Moron was out for your blood over similarly unimportant bull beans.

You know what, I have a plan where nobody will have to worry about me contributing to the demise of the planet by perpetuating generic milk snakes. I think I'll just go home this evening, take out all my coastals, hold them by the tail and snap their necks! Think that would shut you guys up? Then I can turn around and buy some locality stuff from Ted and Brad and think I'm morally superior just like you guys.

I mean, you can crawl into my head and know how I intended a sentence and discern it from someone else that says the exact same thing?? Is this how you "rise above the fray"? Stop the neck snappin drama, and judge me(if thats your intent)by what I have done today, recently, not because I may have once been a impetuous jerk. We have far more in common than we all realize, we have to accept each others right to be different.

WOW!The snake hobby is cool, everyone is sooooo nice and helpful. i've been in the hobby for over 20 YEARS and i have a little surprise for you locality nuts! i have been crossing out red milks and eastern milks. Then i have been releasing them all along the eastern coast. Thought it made nicer looking eastern milks but it turns out they look more like coastals. So you can thank me the next time you flip a tin and get a very unique snake! Hey maybe you already have my "JDavis specials". How can you tell? well chances are if you bought anything after 95' then you are a proud owner of a J. davis special or as i now call them "sour milks"!
