Sorry, havent figured out how to load all pics in 1 post yet. She is actually more green in person!

I still like the Blaze no matter what some people say. I think the Blaze color intensity varies just like any other trait.
I also think you Blaze x Hypo hets that you are expecting should turn out some distinct double homo that you will love.

I LOVE THE TOO! I have a clutch from blaze to a striped blaze that should hatch in the next month, have obx hatching now but I will post some pix of the blaze when they hatch.
Rainer, I've had blaze for years. And the babies can be REALLY nice, the adults fade. But the "morph" itself is a bit strange. I think its basically a "lesser hypo". And the degree of color has nothing to do with it being a BLAZE either. Further, Zenny's "super flame" brooks seem to have the same color as the BLAZE goini that most people recognize. I saw some of the F2s from the blaze x hypo that Tom has, and I simply dont like the burnt orange. Add to that the double morph hasnt been proven yet so its hard to guess what it looks like. Anyways, plenty of stuff to work with for sure!
Jeff,
I think you are the only one who does not see the potential of the Blaze. As you know i have worked with them for years to.
Forget about what the blaze adults look like. It is when recessive traits are combined that you get the unusual.
try and move forward dude. it is the 90's..errr, I mean the the 21st century.
BTW- here is an large adult blaze of mine. Doesnt look too bad to me!

LOL, Rainer, BLAZE is a neat little morph, I have some and I like em fine. But I think the uniqueness of the RED RED is over, and the fact that Zenny has that same look in his Brooks means that "purists" wont need the BLAZE gene to add color to Brooks. I'd like to be able to produce snakes like that one Scott just hatched on purpose. I'm a big fan of intergrades but others arent. All these morphs and ssp. are tools in a toolbox, agreed? Blaze just isnt as cool of a tool as it used to be.
Blaze just isnt as cool of a tool as it used to be.
i disgree. And you will to. Just wauit until we see more the the blaze phase incorporated into other morphs. The trait has been laying dormant for a hile. Unlike the newer ZMosaic morph. Which is imO the best buy in Florida king morphs out there righty now. zZPretty soon with will see mosaic x w/everything.
It is only getting better dude. The goini x hypos hav been done to death already. We have better tools at our disposal. But don't miss the boat and try some things new.
Anything with hypo, lavender, axathic, anery has been doen to death already. Those ill be cheap copmmmon snakes. Zyou have to try and think out side of the box and get crative.
Tha is, if you want people interested in some new-neverbefore seen tarits before.
experiment with the Blze. i have a lavender gfoing from guld cost whic i am thinking about breeding to a blaze or hyoi balze at some poing. Can you imagine a Blazing hybino morph. woooHoooo@
There is no end and we are just touching a small peaice of what can happen in the next 3 yrs. Do miss the boast an USe theose Blaze into everything you got.
BTW i happen to like Tom Stevens hypo Blaze. It is diffrent and if you had a mind for it. that snake can only be used to create more exciting new prphs when crossed into othet suff. Like a peabino, hypo ws. or ..or......
These new morphs comeimg up will be highj dollor for a while and the different traits avaliabe will blow away any other spp out there.

Rainer, no one can argue that you are at the front of putting new morphs of kings on the market. What I and a few others might be saying is that even the older morphs arent "done", but they need some outcrossing, backcrossing to bring out the best in those morphs. You ran out so far so fast that all these "new" morphs are beyond alot of people anyways. Lets face it, not much effort has gone into the refining of existing morphs as much as has been to find the next one. A stupid arms race you are intent on winning.... All the refining possible has been done with BLAZE, yet fewer and fewer patternless animals are available. Is the demand less? No. But if nicer Blaze goini were produced it might affect sales of Brooksi right?
You can talk about the mosaic florida king, but I will retort with the mosaic chain king, and how distinctive that form is. Combining other rarer locales can create something "new". Who knows. What I do know is that all these under appreciated forms can be refined to create a snake that could look more attractive to more people than simply producing another quad homo white snake. Stop and smell the roses a bit is all I'm saying. If you produced 50 of those like Scott's latest example I'm thinking it would increase sales...no?
.....still typing with those gloves on, huh?

Surrender Dorothy!
Jeff, Though undescribed ,Blaze Faze is still a Goini i assume ,who can say what documents this. maybe GCR?...C btw no Mag articles allowed Rainman
BLAZE Goini are goini. BLAZE phase is a genetic anomoly, the founder need not be present while we discuss it, LMAO. In fact, I heard somewhere Sue doesnt even keep them anymore, I could be wrong. When first described BLAZE phase was both a pattern AND color anomaly. In the years of captive breeding since, I have examples where the color is removed. Add to that the newly described "super hypo flame"(my apology Zenny if I got the name wrong)looks like the COLOR has popped up in Brooksi. Have we "defunct" BLAZE, not entirely, but we have vivisected it to its raw material. Agree? I mean Rainer could still combine it with a myriad of morphs to see how related it is to other morphs. But its simply not needed to get the RED REDs, especially since many of the Hypos now have shown to hold the RED cleaner and longer. Now I dont think enough people work with Goini, and if a morph helps this so be it!
Wromg aagin on so many angles ai don't now here to begin.
ZFirst of all if i took your comment correctly you are sayong the balze is not a morph onto itself. thast Gulf coast fooled us. not so my friend. i have followed the gene and questioned it more than anybdoy. That is why i bred the first hypo to the blaze and got all hets. To disprove the naysayers...which happens everytime something like this pops out.
The blase is a suttle morph. But it will be proven to produce some of the most striking new norpsh we have yet seen.
You can doi it to. Just think back and relax. then get creative. These suttle morphs will surprise you what they can produce once they are combined with other traits.
Stop trying to recreate the old and move on.be daring. I dare you!

Rainer, the typos make me think you're drunk, lol. I dont think you see what I am saying. BLAZE is a morph(I noted a "lesser hypo" NOT referring to the original HYPO at all..but say type 2), but it has been cut up, vivisected into its elements and those elements(color AND pattern) can now be individually used. What hasnt happened is we havent figured out the Bell hypo, and I'm not alone in saying...I dont really care about the lineage but what I want to produce is what Scott just did...on a consistent basis. To do that we need to refine existing techniques instead of looking for the next GREAT WHITE SNAKE. Variation is very very cool, but so isnt consistency. You can be the tallest and I'll be the fattest, doesnt really matter to me, know what I mean? We all do things our own ways anyways. Dont try and tell me that the answers are another 3 years/generation ahead(if I buy X morph) when it might be here within our exisiting snakes and we just havent put the right ones together yet.
Very nice.
