My 4 year old son spotted this big old milk in a rock crevice on a hike this morning.

Flipped this yearling yesterday.

Great finds! That in situ shot is great - and a great spot by your 4 year old for sure. Glad to see you're exposing him to herping/hiking, etc. That yearling is smokin.

Thanks Dave, I knew you'd enjoy them. I actually didn't belive my son when he yelled "DAD MILKSNAKE!" when we were walking down a trail, but to my surprise he was right. I'm doing my best to keep my kids involved with nature.

Thats a great find and nice for the boy to find. From the pic it looks like maybe a 3 yr old milk ?(red oak leaf comparison).
The shed in the pic was that a size match to that snake in the photo or from a different snake?
Joe how did you make out with the mating Ltts?
Let me know if ya have any extras?

The first one was a very large male, I'm guessing much older than 3 years. The second was very small, I'm guessing last years young. I actually didn't notice the shed until I got home and downloaded the pics off my phone but it looks like it may have been from the milk. It was very clean and bright.

Still have my fingers crossed.

Another exciting flip from today

Joe, you found a ALBINO in your front yard, you are supposed to be finding em everywhere!! LMAO! Know your role!! Its gotta be a very prideful thing to have your kid find one. Congrats! Better question, what on earth were you doing OUT in the field today. I worked and lost 20# in sweat.

Went back today with my camera. This is the big male that was in the crevice.

And here are a couple more photos of the rock. There were at least 2 more adult easterns in the crevice. I stuck around long enough for one to poke its head out before noticing me.

And another flip today.

here's a copperhead we found maybe 8 to 10 feet up in the limestone rocks along the side of a dirt road, during "herp weekend" at Natural Bridge State Resort Park in Kentucky last month. A second one was found under a rock nearby. We photographed this one in situ but did not disturb it otherwise.

What a great picture. The snake blends in nicely.
