Just had this litter drop today. Parents are decent looking pastels. Both are rescues. Only my 3rd litter ever, and the 1st for this pair. What do you make of these?

Can you see them?

And videos:

Jackpot is right!! Congrats on the litter! Looks like those 'normal' rescues are het. for 'patternless' or something!

asnakesview Jun 05, 2010 11:06 PM

Those are insane and look just like the patternless harlequin that Brendan Magee produced. We are working with 3.6 from the mother that produced her in hopes to "hit the jackpot" like you did. We have got to say that this makes us feel a little better about the outcome of the project.

Here is the patternless 50% harlequin as a youngster....
Peruvian mother and Harlequin father

Just insane the resemblance. Sure look like patternless harlequins to us. HUGE CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

Looks like you got some super harlequins on your hands anyone else?

To me the sire looks like it might have some BCc... kinda looks peruvian to me... and the patternless harlis were from a peruvian mother.

Look at the roswells too.

Somewhere in the BCc or something with BCc x BCi seems to produce this patternless type look.

At least that's my theory for now.

Awesome babies, congrats!!

Funny you say that Apes, cause I have Mr.Antgreentea over for a visit and we both saw these first at the same time and the first thing he said was that the dad I think it was, looked like it had Peruvian blood in it. Maybe there's something going on somewhere in the Peruvian blood. All I want to know is what day should I be checking my doorstep for mine? LoL

maizeysdad Jun 06, 2010 07:13 PM

I saw pics of the parents and there is no Peruvian influence. Both parents are fairly small. More likely some Central Am. influence.

wow, nice, congrats

do you know if the parents were siblings?

and were your temps consistent and at what temp was the mom kept?

maizeysdad Jun 07, 2010 10:17 AM

Temps were consistent. 92 degree hot spot (belly) during the entire pregnancy, and 85-70 gradient across length of cage.

Chad_Ramsey Jun 09, 2010 08:22 AM

and were they siblings that you know of?

reddogg1 Jun 10, 2010 10:33 AM

It looks a lot like those "roswells" a patternless morph. Those babies look almost identical to the roswells. I would bet money the same genetic change is same as the roswells. The roswells came from a columbian suri mix. I think we now know where the mutation came from. In my opinion it come's from the columbian side of genetics. I feel like it's pretty obvious..
