I cant believe Florida banned several species of pythons..wow! I feel bad for all our Florida brothern,you guys can move to Georgia if you want our economy would love to have you business. Does any one know what species exactly were banned? After last winter i bet they would be hard pressed to find a burm in the wild....fear born of ignorance how sad!!!

Like I said on the other post like this...we should boycott Florida. All reptile owners should. If you can move...do it.
We stop having expos there etc.
Then sit back and watch them ask where all the money went.

The way it is going we should all move out of country to somewhere else where we won't be screwed with. Unless USARK can turn around the decision in Florida and other states where big constrictors are banned, then it is just going to keep happening to more and more states. Yes these people are very ignorant, know nothing of snakes and their fears spread from ignorance. It's not the snakes releasing themselves in the wild. It's the dumba**es that buy a burmese or retic and think they can handle taking care of it until it gets big enough to eat something the size of your big family dog and still have room for more. Don't put a ban on the snakes. Require that the person have to register the animal with those things you put in dogs when they come up missing or something of the sort Jesus we travel to space and work on rockets. If the snakes comes up and it gets the sensor ran, ir pops up your info and you get slapped with a hefty fine, you dont get to keep large pythons anymore, the snake goes up for adoption and when someone gets it put their info on the microchip. Wow, hard. Just something other than banning. Banning is like taking your rights away and America was supposed to be founded on freedom and persuit of happiness not communism and supressing people to not want to live here and flee to somewhere else like our ancestors did some 250 years ago from the United Kingdom. Come on you democratic turd sandwhiches and republican deusche bags. There are more serious injuries and deaths from dog maulings in th U.S. every year than there are captive snake handling incedences every five years. Why don't you ban dogs a-holes? Well, there's my 2¢ worth.

It's actually been proven that the majority of the Burmese pythons loose in Florida were due to a crate of imports being opened by a hurricane or something like that.

AMEN to that!!! I totally agree on a full boycott of Florida. Don't have any shows in Florida and any breeders that can get out should. I don't mean stop buying from the many good breeders in Florida cause there are some great breeders in that state, Im just so mad at this situation.

Right. I'm not saying to Boycott the breeders, but things like expos, etc.

What the heck are the store owners and owners supposed to do? It's a law now and if they don't get rid of them they will be fined won't they? I know Ryan from Underground Reptiles and he always has a ton of business. It's a bunch of BS.

I really do not see the point of boycotting Florida. Some people can't leave...so we punish the businesses for something the politicians did? In fact I think boycotting a state in gereral is a bad idea. It seems like the opposite is true.... support the reptile shows and business in Florida to give them more power influence and money.

Elidogs, I think that is the best idea. Hey guys, when everyone is done in Florida come support us in Arizona, I guess y'all have heard a lot of the country wants to boycott us too for trying to preserve our way of life and stop having our system drained with all the illegals pouring over the border. I am happy to boycott Florida. That place has the worst zoning I have ever had the displeasure of going on a 5 mile run. Florida has many other problems on their plate than the big snakes they seem to think are such a problem for their ecosystem. Its a shame that Burmese pythons won't eat criminals.

Yeah, lived on out skirts of West Palm Beach, off of Blue Heron Rd. Have to agree on the criminals and crime rate there. I lived in a “nice” gated community, but across the water way was the ghetto. Some guy shot up the Wendy's parking lot not even a mile from my house. Summertime there and you can go skiing from all the massive amounts of cocaine drifting around down there not to mention everything else. You have Haitians, Jamaicans and Cubans entering the country illegaly. I woke up to the sounds of police dogs, cops, and helicopters storming through and flying over my community because 7 haitians made it up the coast and jumped raft and were trying to get away. Know exactly what you are talking about. Definitely take care of your bigger problems. Because mother nature will take care of the snakes.

There is no nice gated community on Blue Heron Blvd...

No there isn't on Blue Heron, but if you know where the Wendy's and Walgreen's is at the light then if you are coming from 95 then you make a left at that light and go up that road about a mile or so and it's on the left hand side. I lived at 1010 Centerstone Ln.

Maybe you should read closer or put your brain in gear before your fingers start typing.. I want you to read my little ditty and tell me where in it you saw the words "immigrants who have moved here to make a better life for their families" I did use the words "illegals" so dont try to make it something its not!! Do you understand what the word illegal means? I thought not. Immigrants were people like my great grandparents that came into this country through Ellis Island applied for citizenship and learned the ENGLISH language if they did not already speak it. They didnt come here demanding that America print everything in their language or learn to speak German or Portuguese. My people came here to make a better life for themselves and did it the right way. They didnt come here to suck off of the American system, collect all the benefits they could while being here illegally and then send all the money back to the country they were from like the border crossers do now. Hey buddy we can call them anything that makes you feel better as long as it has the words undocumented or illegal in it. Four words I hate as much as your use of the word Hoodies are "for english press 1" we are in freakin America. Love it, do it the right way or get the H3LL OUT. Whew, Now I feel better.

I live in south florida--I always hear from people,"oh-how do you live in such a violent area? I saw it on police women of broward county and cops!!" Seriously--give me a break. YOU COULD NOT PAY ME ENOUGH TO LEAVE FLORIDA!!--

as a northerner who grew up in new jersey and moved here my sophmore year of high school, I have to say--I will never leave. Where else in the united states could you go scuba diving off the beach in the morning, then go fishing off your boat in the afternoon, then go kayaking/fishing in the everglades in the late afternoon, and then jump on a hopper flight and be in the bahamas in 28 mintues--YES-28 minutes-IN THE DEAD OF WINTER IF YOU SO DESIRE!! Many of you herpers may not be into the fishing diving thing, but as far as herpers go, it is hard to argue that florida is the countries most reptilian state as well with a myriad of importers, stores, breeders etc etc.
I am not saying it is the best state to live in, ok, maybe I am saying that!!----if I ever left florida it would be for the bahamas or maybe panama.
