pure Blood litter

mike_panic Jun 06, 2010 10:56 PM

I am very pleased with this litter. In an attempt to create pure bloods, Ryan Decaro and I decided to enter into a breeding agreement. I bred his female het blood boa from John Berry's Berry litter to a male Blood Boa from the original St. Pierre line also produced by John Berry. The result was 10 bloods and 5 hets. No slugs and no DOA's. A few of the hets are really colorful and although its very early, I think I can say that these are some of the nicest bloods I have produced yet. Thanks again to Ryan Decaro. Thanks for looking. Mike Panichi

Those look nice. The mother must be pretty tame to let you stick
your arm in there like that.

Do they look just like normal BCI, are their heads shaped any
differently?

mike_panic Jun 07, 2010 09:52 AM

They look like normal bci central americans but they are very red in my opinion. Redder than the other bloods I have been producing the last few seasons and those have been pretty red so these guys are nice. The hets look like hypos. Thanks guys. Mike Panichi

Congrats! I have yet to see any of those red puppies in the goo so far. I hope that changes soon though!

Are they tiny little babies when born? My two gravid females look like they might have five babies in each. Maybe five, but then I haven't had a good litter from on of these Central American types yet. Five doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in het to het breedings... lol

Thanks. They are a little small but nothing crazy. Mouse fuzzy eaters. This is my third CA litter with 15 plus babies. I must admit, I was a little surprised with this one because the female is small, great condition, but small. Thanks. Mike Panichi
