New Licorice Black Rat

Kevin Saunders Jun 08, 2010 06:49 PM

I got my first whitesided black rat years ago and had him until he reached about 4 feet when I parted with all of my snakes in college. I always regretted letting him go and kept my eyes open for more nice specimens. I finally took the plunge and got a new one, and today he arrived. He's an 09 and I think I'm going to enjoy him. Here are some quick shots right out of the shipping box:

Here's a shot of my last one-one of the best snakes I ever had.

Nice...rat
I haven't seen one of those in a while. I wasn't even sure if anyone was working with them any more. Where did you get it?
I wonder if they work with rusty black rats....

I got him from a breeder advertising here on the kingsnake.com classifieds (Jordan Russell). There are a few other whitesides posted in the classifieds right now, but I haven't seen any rusties (or brindles for that matter) in quite a while. I know one breeder produced some whitesided brindles last year though-they were pretty interesting looking.

I like these a lot too! I don't see these offered too much anymore.
