Temporary change in snake shipping policy
05/20/2010
Due to some irresponsible shippers, UPS has directed our customers to temporarily stop shipping snakes with ShipYourReptiles.com.
We are working hard to reinstate safe snake shipping for our customers and the entire reptile community.
Other types of UPS-approved non-venomous reptiles — including geckos, lizards and turtles — may be shipped with ShipYourReptiles.com.
To make your shipments easy, we recommend you drop off your packages at a Staples or Office Depot shipping counter.
We will keep you updated on this matter.
Thanks for your patience and support,
-- Robyn and the ShipYourReptiles.com team

I know about that, I was just wondering if it got fixed.

The best way to get that question answered would be to contact us directly : )
You can ship live reptiles through our site, each and every day. But right now, no snakes. Geckos, Lizards, turtles, tortoises, etc, those are fine, and daily shipping volume is still high and as reliable as ever : )

Robyn I was just wondering because I have not seen anything posted from you or anyone at SYR -what was it that- to paraphrase- "some irresponsible people" did to shut down your entire snake shipping program?
Thanks

I don't know but would assume one of two things.....
1) improper packaging leading to escape or death.
2) shipping hots.

I understand - the reason for someone shipping hots! Shipping snakes that die should be no concern to UPS as I understand UPS offered no insurance or live arrival guarantees anyways!!
My original question I had was directed to SYP or Robyn - they have not come forward and offered any answers as to why - what are the reasons for UPS stopping the shipping of snakes?
