I was out on run late this morning (10:30 - 12) and encountered several nice sized gopher snakes on the move on or next to the paved path. I first came across this nice 4ft that I had to stop and pick up...No striking or bluffing at all...just tried to wiggle free once. I set him down and snapped a quick pic with my cell phone so excuse the lack of resolution.

On my third lap I had to stop and get pic of this 3 footer sneaking across the pathway.

On my fourth lap I think I came across the first one again...this time popping his head out of a gopher hole not too far from where I watched him go down one on my first lap. He was still hanging out both of my last two laps. We have a lot of what they call "June Gloom" out here this time of year so the mornings our mild and cloudy all throughout June...which may explain them being out in the open so close to mid-day.
