41q sterlite rack in progress

ross2k Sep 23, 2003 02:03 AM

I tried to document the assembly of my newest rack. It will be for my Brazilian Rainbow boas. At the moment they are between 2.5 and 3.5 feet, so I think they are just about right for some 3 foot tubs.

I tried to get some detailed pictures of the confusing parts of rack building so others can figure things out. One photo shows how the heat tape is tacked on BEFORE assembling the boards. Then another photo shows the soildering gun removing some of the plastic to allow for connections. The 2nd and 3rd photo show the current status of the rack. It looks complete, but I still have to remove the back and then do all the wiring. I ran out of time, it will have to wait until Wednesday. I'll take more pictures then of the wiring because I know that can be confusing too.

I intend to make a nifty little web page documenting the whole process. I'll also try to make the same thing for 32q racks.

If anyone has anything they think I should add, please let me know. I'd like for this to be an aid for anyone that might require it.

I like it! How much space are you going to leave between the flexwatt and the bottom of the rubbermaid? I like the idea of the slideguides. Thanks, Frank
