well, thats a great question. I've heard Schofield knows a decent amount about them but I have found some flaws in his reasoning but i promise he does mean well. Now, I am working on a publication about the Eastern Milk (triangulum triangulum for all you newbys) which should be out by Christmas. It will be published by T.F.H. and should be available through serpents tail/zoo books. It is tentativly titled "Easten Milks for the average keeper". Tell ya what I will send you an autographed copy. Really excited. It will show some never before seen morphs that a buddy of mine from Canada has been working on. Also working on a coffee table photo book featuring pictures of all the locality specific milks and kings i have cross bred with a fold out map of sites i have re-released them into the wild. stay tuned!

I'll be looking forward to that book. Ive never had milks befor and would like to find out as much about them as I can. Ball pythons I m good with.
From looking around the web/net it seems to me that "Eastern Milks" are shown very little interest compared to the rest of the milk family. Sad because they are very beautiful. Ill try to get some pics posted soon. Thanks
AWESOME! I have a buddy who will be having several clutches this year i will send him your way..they are locality specific.
The ones I came across are form the waukesha county in Wisconsin.
Mr. Davis, the book writer, please elaborate or send me a PM. Thanks, Jeff

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The uniqueness of Easterns is that they are different colors! They can be red, orange, green, brown, and every color in between. Red milks are red, like every other milksnake in the whole wide world.

I agree. Nice head shot.
..would little boys care about them?

would we be out in the field snake hunting or preparing for nuclear winter? LMAO. Hey, how do you post multiple pics like that? I use imageshack not photoshop, does that make a difference?

Forget Easterns? I think not. Those red's are nice but I still like the Easterns better.
Thats because Easterns are better!!! They are very unique in the milk snake community. Those red milks were nice too i just hate the babies...man they are small. I usually end up getting frustrated with them and feed them to my much cooler Eastern Milks..

I am the cure for your stupidity!
You sent the pics of from Canada going to be available next year? Those were absolutely beautiful and should be popular.
well, unfotunatly the only thing offered will be hets but it should be a great way to start an awesome project. Do you by chance still have those pics I had some computer problems and lost my copies. I would love to give everyone a preview, especially since my buddy is somewhat of a recluse. Man, those babies are SCREAMERS!! I would sell half my collection just for the freakin hets. Once these puppies hit the market all other milk snake breeders might as well put thier collection straight into the freezer!! lol naw just kidding...but then again if you need to make some room....

Love to see some pictures! Is this (striped pied if that is what they are) a proven recessive, or double recessive traits? Just curious Mr. teacher.

Send them to you. I also really liked those dark eastern milks or "chocolate milks" as you called them. I can see the potential for a solid black animal with some selective breeding. I would definitely consider those melanistic especially since it has proved out. Pm me when you get a chance.
Thanks
Joe M. and stretchx, I'm not sure about the Eastern morphs recessive traits I will ask Bill about it. Will you be in Florida this year? He usually goes as a sectator. Maybe we will see you their. Stretchx I dont think the "chocalate Milks" are valid. It hasnt proven out. It may be a situation where a fungus has attacked the egg or some such thing to cause the abberration. Lets keep our fingers crossed though. There is a small area in Maryland where I have found some very dark animals. Dont ask me where because you know I wont tell you. To many "land rapers" out there you know. We should get together and go collecting..but not for Eastern Milks. I dont take anyone to my spots, but I would love to check out some of your spots..

"personal Herper to the stars"
About 15 years ago I got a really neat pr from Chuck the snake man. From 5' away they looked like chain kings. They produced normal looking babies, didnt take the line to f2 though. No idea of locale but very likely in Calvert/St.Marys.
Nice but not as nice as these in my opinion. These were heading towards that dark black and I'm surprised this is the first time many have heard of them. These truely are under appreciated milks but I think that may soon change!
That sounds AWESOME, man i really want to believe that story, sounds really cool man i hope it's all true! I'm sure it is, i mean, why would you make it up? I believe you! Chain king Milks..thats rally awesome! Good for you man.

"i gotta enough snakes to choke a camel"
out there. They were neat but no locality data so I steered clear of them. They were nice black and white/gray though.
and let's see hmmmmmmmm..............uh ok! Lol! Sorry I thought the chocolate milks had been proven. Maybe that was the "other"morph we talked about. Anyhow I'm glad Bill has finally decided to poke his ever so secretive head out at least a little. To keep that many morphs quiet for so many years is commendable. He just enjoys the animals and not all the hype.
Bill's a good dude. One of the old schools. He's a canadian legend. i bet none of these "deli cup-ers" would know anything about him. He aint into hype man he's all about the spirit behind keeping snakes not the dollar sign for who knows more. i heard a story that always blows my mind, Bill supposedly found a scaleless eastern garter that was malnourished. He nursed it back to health and released it into the wild. i asked him why not just keep it and breed it, He looked me dead in the face and said "It's not the right time, it's just not the right time". still dont know what he meant, he's a kook for sure. I think he uses Kerosene to get rid of mites...never tried it myself (i've never had mites, EVER) but who knows, it might work.

"My ugliest specimen is still 10% better looking than yours"
it would be hard to find someone that knows more or bred as much as he. I had a friend when I was young that was from Canada and he knew Bill and always talked about him. And know here we are 25 years later talking about him again and he has still stayed off the radar in all that time despite what he has and all that he has done. He emailed me a few days ago and we had a lenghthy chat. I look forward to meeting you and him if I make it to Daytona. If not he wants to catch up on his way back north. He did ask to keep the pics he sent private so you may want to ask him before you post any should you decide to.
yea i forgot about the legal issues he had in the past, i will keep the pics under wraps until he says different.
