What does the head bobbing mean??

jumbo Sep 23, 2003 02:12 AM

I have often seen my adult male do the head bobbing of the females. It still goes on this time of the year, but not as often as in the mating season. So I thought that it had something to do with mating, but now I have seen one of my males from this spring (less than 6 month old) do the same thing of some females. He must be to young to mate and have not been bromated or anything, so what does it mean – mating or territory or what?

Definetly associated with mating, and boy meets girl type senerio, Kong head bobs everytime one of his female companions walks by him, Although he has not mated yet this season.
I see them head bob at another male sometimes before puffing up and displaying, I have walked up to the side of tank and one will headbob briefly, does he like me??? LOL Also and this I observe alot especially with Chino the male vestiguim, he runs up to a cricket stands and watches excitedly (headbobs at the thought of eating it) and then grabs it. So like I said I would think it is an (EXCITEABLE TYPE REACTION to MANY things) Thats my thoughs, hehehhehe, Eve
