I have built a stack of plywood snake cages with a glass front. I now want to drill vent holes and was wondering how many to drill. Does anyone know of a good closed space area:vent hole area ratio?

I have this setup 7 years and without ventilation the ventilation is between the glas and that is al my ventilation
The animals are doing fine and produce offspring so why must i make extra ventilation.
If you are going to be a first time reptile owner or snake owner I think it would be a good idea to snap some extensive shots of the homemade tanks to allow us to make suggestions and look for possible points of escape.
For ventilation I would make two or three 3" diameter holes in each side then cover the holes with wire mesh which was stapled and glued/calked over the holes...
whatever you do, make sure you seal every single notch, hole or fitting. An 1/8" hole to you means a cavernous escape route to a snake (believe me, they find a way) and none of us want to see you posting in the next few weeks looking for tips on how to find escaped animals.
GOOD LUCK
