Eggs in water

ChrisMaze Jun 10, 2010 09:05 AM

Well, after waiting almost two weeks after my first female laid, my other two females finally started laying last night. The problem is, one of them dropped two eggs in the water bowl before she moved to her lay box. Should I be concerned at all about these or just incubate them as usual and see how they go?

Well eggs in water will die but how much time is needed is anyones guess! Incubate them and see. If they were good there's a very good chance they will hatch. But they will forever poop in the water bowl...

Yea I got them in the incubator. An I don't think they were there long. I went to bed last night with nothing from her and woke up to two in the water bowl and two along the edge of the tub that she got out before getting to her lay box. And she was still laying. Maybe the vermiculite will help pull a little of the moisture out of them?

I would incubate them and see what happens
you'll know soon enough if they are bad.
If you found them soon enough they'll do fine.
good luck

Yea. I wouldn't doubt it though. I already have one that goes in the water bowl every time. And then I have another that I swear waits for me to clean his tub. Every time I do he drops another one for me.
