Cod Liver Oil and Monitors

shottz Jun 10, 2010 05:35 PM

Anyone else on the fourms put drops of Cod Liver Oil on their monitors food once a week? I read it from an old fourm awhile back and have been trying it with the nile monitor and tegu that I have raised from babies and I must say I think there might be something here. It seems to make their skin more shinny and moist and sheds are super easy, never any sticky peices. I recently started using it once a month with my snakes as well.

Thia is what I have been using, this exact brand from walgreens

I would like to hear what you guys think about this. or - input welcome.

Sounds good...
I would just be careful about over-doing it.
Cod liver oil is high in vitamin A and that is a vitamin that an animal can be overdosed on.
I have used it in the past with lizards with good results.
