ive owned a two dwarfs for 6 years now and i just obtained another and in the time ive had my first two i think they have ate everything that was atleast half there body length in front of them, there very good hunters for live prey but if food is presented that they dont have to work for the seem to appreciate it, wether it be fruit or some short of meat, also i have some plants in thier enclosure and i have seen them go after live prey and consume some of the plant on accident and just keep on eating like it wasnt there, not sure as to how much fruit and stuff of that short is good for them but i dont think an occasional piece would hurt infact i think it would probaly do some good. but then again im not expert im just speaking from my past expirences.
Dwarf crocodiles, muggers and also American aliigators are known eating fruit or vegetables sometimes. The curator of St.Augustine Alligator Farm, John Brueggen, reported about this behavior and I personally saw young gators eating lettuce and tomatoes, which has been brought in as turtle food at Alligator Adventure in N.Myrtle Beach.
Oh yes, some vegetables they really relish (no pun intended). Anyone that has american gators, offer them green bell peppers. My gators go nuts for them. Other veggies I have frequently seen them enjoy, corn, peas, brussel sprouts, squash. I don't know what it is other than that they have very keen taste buds and genuinely enjoy tasting new and different things. I have also on occasion let them have a dorito, a cheeto, a few cracker jacks, and even a bite of my chicken burrito. Though this may sound like awful parenting, I never allow them to have more than one little dorito or cheeto at a time and it's just for the taste of it to give them something to enjoy. But boy do they beg for more! I don't like the idea of all those bad things in the unhealthful snack foods being in their system,... even though I am not hesitant to eat them myself, lol.

True "power" is not to be found in social or economic placement or stature, which are merely illusory, finite, frail and brief.
True power is to be found in one's sheer will and personal determination to achieve one's goals at ANY cost and at ANY sacrifice.
yep!my caiman looks like so much the taste of my fingers!lol..
When I was a kid I used to loiter around the okefenokee swamp park (never paid to get in, the guys that worked there knew I didn't have any money, lol)
anyway, we used to feed little 3 and 4 foot gators marshmallows and several other snacks, ... the one I remember they liked most was the crackers with vanilla goo in the middle, sort of like an oreo but light colored and came in packs of six. every convenience store has them. I'm not sure of the brand but they LOVED them.
I know it's bad to feed the gators, but when you're 9 years old, it's so much fun!
About that same time, I also had an eastern garter snake that lived for years eating nothing but strips of bologna. (wierd, huh?)
Let's just say that my herp collections diet has improved considerably since those days ....
