terra-cotta hide box problem...

rdm01 Jun 12, 2010 09:59 AM

Hi all!

Thanks a lot for the enclosure size help. My bp seems to enjoy his low 41qt tub. Tubs are definately the way to go.

Also,
Does anyone have problems with terra cotta pots as hide boxes?
I ask because I know from experience that they are very porus and retain odur with some extreme efficiency. And I wouldn't want to stick it into the oven every time to completely disinfect it.
What do you all think?

also, what is a good n heavy hide box for an adult bp that would be easy to clean?

Thanks again!

I soak mine in a bucket of hot bleach water while I clean the sweater box. They soak up water which is a good thing if you are in a dry situation like me but perhaps in a tight sweater box in a humid climate you might not want the extra humidity.

Wal-Mart sells plastic oil pans in the auto section. Only $2.50. Than cut out front for hole. On mine I also cut off bottom lip all the way around so it fits better in my tubs, since I use cypress mulch.
