I Never Liked Low White Pieds Until Now

fgs Jun 13, 2010 03:59 AM

When I saw this striped pied in the egg, I have to admit that I was a little dissapointed, This is the first low white pied I've produced.

It's very strange to hear me say this, but this little girl is starting to grow on me.

There is another pied waiting to come out of it's shell, and like it's siblings is striped. The same breeding porduced striped pieds last year.

Two beauties!
Both out of a high white female/male?

fgs Jun 13, 2010 09:27 AM

Matt,

The father is a nice 80 % pied and the mother is a het.

Here is a photo I just took of all 3 females that just hatched. The second photo is of a pair of boys I produced last year out of the same parents. I hope you're having a great season.

Brian I think any Pied is the nicest Ball morph available today. I've always like the 50%-60% white Pieds the best. Personally I think the ones that seem to have white bands similar to a banded Cal. King the best of all and not the 80% plus high white Pieds. Anyway beautiful snakes as always Brian!

Beauties Brian,

With all the white snakes being produced, the medium to 50/50% white pieds are just as popular as high whites, as a matter of fact, low whites are much preferable in combos...

Love that stripey one!

fgs Jun 13, 2010 09:30 AM

Thank you Tom.

I couldn't agree with you more about the pieds, their by far my favorite morph. In fact it was the pied that made me sell out of my colubrid collection many years ago to get into the ball python projects.

I like the low white pieds just as much as the med or highs. But when the low whites are striped like that I like them A LOT!

Congrats!

Hey Jay,

I hope you're doing well.

Yeah I'm pretty jazzed about this clutch. It will be interesting to see how the low white pied looks like after her shed.

I think that might be favorite low white pied other than maybe a lavender albino low white pied! I love stripey stuff! Nice clutch, Brian.
