I'm wanting to build a small (3x4) pond for my caiman. Does anyone know any inexpensive ways to set one up? I can handle the main construction, but was wondering about pumps and filtration. Thanks

It depends on what kind of pond you want to build a concrete one your goind to have to seal it cause concrete is acidic i would think. that case use just pvc piping and all. you can also use a stock tank or pvc fish pond and build the cage around it. Build like a platform for that pond to sit in. To run filter you can do it two ways run pipes over the side and into the pond one for intake and one for output. Or in my opinion the most efficent way to not lose and pressure is to use a bulk head. They look like the jets in pools or jacuzzis you drill a whole in the side of the pond and place it in and they seal. You then hook the hose directly to the bulk head and gives you nice circulation in your pond. Any questions I will help where I can.

I was going to go with a liner with large rocks on the bottom to prevent punctures. I more need to know what type pumps and filters work best. I've seen all types, but don't know what kind is good for ponds with critters
I use Fluval FX5 on my turtle pond and my caiman pond. It is nice lots of room for media and self priming. I have also seen people configure pool filters to work with their ponds.
