...many of you should be ashamed of yourselves, you knew jack about this man or what happened yet you all start jumping to wild conclusions and makeing horrid accusations about him.
...God forbid one of you have an accident one day...which is exactly what this was.
...and does it really matter where this fellow worked? at least he wasnt some unemployed crackhead,he was a good man and father who made a fatal mistake.
...for shame...

on your pedestal.

The fact of the matter is, the guy was too ignorant to know that you NEVER put a boa of that size and strength over your shoulders (like he CLEARLY did numerous times) without an escape plan should something go wrong.

You saying he was a "good man" is as much a presumption as anything else. He could have been the biggest piece of crap walking the earth. None of us know.

what is the name of the big man behind that one?

As for walking up to his family, they don't need to be told something they already know.

Amen JB.... you can't call this an accident... it was clearly negligence..... Excuse me if we arent very sympathetic..... these "ACCIDENTS " as you call them have created a perilous environment for people who rely on these animals for their livelihood..... There are people who stand to have their life's work deleted because of the actions of a few morons....

The whole way the media goes nuts for this stuff is really insane...

Though this seems to be an incident of someone behaving complacently, and getting killed (could be said he, "killed himself" this is the first Boa Constrictor death I know of. I know much will be made of that in the coming months, but really, this sort of thing is no different from people who would pull a horses tail, tease a bull or dog into aggression, and so on.

Look at all the folks who were mimicking the people on "jackass"...

What scares me the MOST is that people who make rules in this country think that an incident like this is a good reason to ban these creatures, take away peoples rights to their property, just to "keep people safe"...the whole convoluted shift in thinking - what used to be "that's a shame, I guess well he screwed up" or calling the incident a "occupational/hobby based hazard" - is now - OMG something killed someone somewhere, so now we need to do everything we can to keep everyone as far away from those somethings as possible!

I totally agree but the sad thing is its not just our exotics the same goes for breeds of dogs that have been labeled aggressive bred and even beyond that is wild life... how many times has someone been bike riding thru mountain lion territory gets attacked then a posse of hunters go out and kill them. Why... because they want to keep us safe from that something. You got that right on the money
