The whole way the media goes nuts for this stuff is really insane...
Though this seems to be an incident of someone behaving complacently, and getting killed (could be said he, "killed himself"
this is the first Boa Constrictor death I know of. I know much will be made of that in the coming months, but really, this sort of thing is no different from people who would pull a horses tail, tease a bull or dog into aggression, and so on.
Look at all the folks who were mimicking the people on "jackass"...
What scares me the MOST is that people who make rules in this country think that an incident like this is a good reason to ban these creatures, take away peoples rights to their property, just to "keep people safe"...the whole convoluted shift in thinking - what used to be "that's a shame, I guess well he screwed up" or calling the incident a "occupational/hobby based hazard" - is now - OMG something killed someone somewhere, so now we need to do everything we can to keep everyone as far away from those somethings as possible!
