Brown snake baby ate!!!!!!

DemonFrog Sep 23, 2003 09:21 AM

I'm really happy now, my bus missed me this morning so i was stuck at home with the baby brown anake that i caught the other day. so i went out to get it some food rather than do nothing and i found a baby or small slug and a few small snails.. well in put these in the tank with the little guy went to check on my dogs and when i came back he/she had the slug in his mouth and was swolling it whole... this is the first snake that my mom has so far let me keep because she is snake phobic and i am happy that i can feed it and keep it alive... thankx for listening to my bragging

P.S. will he/she eat guppies out of a water dish?

Brown snakes won't eat guppies or pinkies. They eat earthworms and slugs.

I disagree, Mine ate small rosey red minnow tossed infront of him without hesitation and later learned to extract them from a shallow dish.

That's kind of strange since browns aren't really water snakes. The ones I've had have only eaten worms and slugs.

Haha it was a terrestrial snail

The little baby is now what i consider a healthy size and is eating small slugs well... he/she also ate a snail and cleaned the thing right out of the shell, it's completly empty like a souvenier... anyway he has once taken a slug off my finger and considering he is WC (by me) that;s great. if anyone cares i will keep posting updates.

Well i now have 2 they are both happy and healthy, and eating lots, the one that i was talking about earlyer has shed once and has fuzzy eyes right now so i am happy, the other has just shed and looks wonderful. Thanks again for listening to my bragging.

P.S. these 2 are them, the lighter one is the one that finnished shedding.

That's so neat! Good for you, for taking the time with them. They seem healthy and happy.
