That NC male is a SMOKER IMO!! Beautiful snakes. How difficult are they to keep? I have considered just getting one to keep as a conversation piece/pet for my own enjoyment without breeding.
I sure don't have the patience for them. I find them from time to time and I just let them go. Most prefer skinks, and sometimes anoles. I remember a friend calling me to his house in Miami and saying he caught one by his garage. I thought no way not inside the city but sure enough it was. Meanest thing I ever held, lol. It bit me five times before I got it in the bag. They sure are pretty if they were only a bit larger. Those 2 footers are beautiful guys, actually all of them are.

Wow, that NC is a smokin hot one! I was looking at the body type, head shape, etc and that very well may have some Coastal plains in it. Whats the county? Have a belly shot? I'm not looking at color, but that head shape isnt typical of SKs.

For the same reason I hang with ugly guys, you make me look GOOD!. And its LOL(laugh out loud), I have no idea what olo means. You dont see the different head shape? I might agree with the beady eyes though. BTW, the moles are gettin fat, great snakes!

I dont see any more coastal characteristics, but he is enormous! 30"?? Locality?? That is certainly an interesting specimen, make sure you save some DNA from him for science! A specimen like that would be a shame if he didnt pass on his genes. I'm raising a 18" female from NC, she just might like him!
Sure glad we have you to verify our snakes jeff.
Next time Ill make sure to get a DNA sample for you before I post a pic

Lets see a pic of your 18" female ( DNA not required )

Look, you posted a very interesting specimen pic for a reason. I dont think it was so we could all just say "hey, pretty snake". Every once in a while someone will find such an interesting specimen and those of us who know something about the eastern/coastal/scarlet quandry will share opinions. If you were being sarcastic I can take a joke as well as anyone. But if you dont want my opinion just post pics of ball pythons all day. Sorry about the bad pic, I took it tonight just for you upon request. She is more typical NC, at least what I've seen. Yours looks like some kind of missing link.

WOW dave that looks real nice.Mine was a gift from a friend.I have to ask him for some History but as I recall the county was unknown. It was from NC. He is about 24 or 25 inches. This guy is real wiggly and has not been eating much at all this spring.Last year he was eating like there was no tomorrow.
