I think I actually ran this girl over myself. Late for work as usual I didn't see this snake till I ran it over. It was stretched out straight as an arrow and looked like a stick. By the time I realized what it was I went over her. I quickly turned around though not really looking forward to see what I would find. But when I reached her she was coiled and striking out but I saw no blood or guts or any sign of trauma. I quickly snatched her up and went to work. I checked on her periodically thru the night and she showed no signs of being hurt though she did seem a bit lethargic. I could not feel any broken ribs or any indication she had just been hit by an SUV. Unfortunately by the time I got home she had passed so I guess I did hit her after all.

OUCH!! Man, those Polk corns definitely have some type of natural hypo vibe going on with them!! The rings around the blotches appear non-existent and the bronze look of the belly checkers are cool!!

Yeah Kev this one was different then others I've come across. It had some off colors, that would have been interesting to develope further.

Awwww, that was so nice you tried to save her. Sorry she didn't make it. We don't live where there are alot of snakes on the roads but last summer my dad saw what he thought was a snake and veered around it to avoid hitting it, nearly crashing us into oncoming traffic in the process. I thought was very sweet of him. Having a snake loving daughter he has snakes on his mind more than most Buffalo drivers... Turned out was just a thin black piece of rubber, not a snake, but the thought was still appreciated.

nice looking corn, to bad it passed...

Not sure if it was run over though....may have been something else that caused it, it does look rather skinny, even for a wild snake.

Well my guess is that she just laid her eggs somewhere. This one screams Caramel! Not very red at all more browns and yellows. Even though this girl wasn't too glamorous, I look at her and see what she could produce with the right male.
