double clutch in 43 days ?

slimlv Jun 15, 2010 10:29 PM

Just got home to some bad (weird)news. I have a pair of albino stripe and she clutched on May 1st. She didn't post shed till the 30th and they haven't been together until the 3rd of June. Well today I can home to a clutch of 12 and I didn't have a nesting box so she layed on bark. Half of the eggs look good (kinda yellow)but big and firm.Any chance they will hatch? Her last clutch on May 1st was 15 and they haven't hatched yet.

It takes about 6 weeks to lay eggs after ovulation. She probably ovulated right after she laid her eggs and had some sperm retention.

kings can be odd...milks too....USUALLY it takes like 55 to 60 days for second clutch...they lay about the same time the first clutch is hatching...milks,kings, corns,ratsnakes...kinda cool....but...I had eastern kings hatch in 43 days once...and this year I had a coastal plains milk lay eggs...28 or 29 days after first clutch....they are hatching right now....weird....

good luck........

I know, I have a goini female that just dropped 13 eggs on the 13th of this month. Bred her on 5/12 and one more time on 5/15. Right at 30 days later she drops. I was expecting at least another week at least before I would have eggs. Should I expect a double clutch?... After all my ramblings I do have a question, what is the max temp variations is allowable for eggs? My coolest room in my house is 86 degrees during the day with ac on. Night time I can keep the eggs around 80 degrees with no problem. My issue is daytime temps.
