South Brazilians

eschmit04 Jun 16, 2010 11:35 AM

Hi I was curious what the market was like for the South Brazilian red tails. I am surprised they are not more common. They have extremely unique patterns and very rich colors. And best of all they are much smaller than the rest of the BCC.

The reason I ask Is I have a pair that I plan to breed this season, but do not want to end up with a bunch of babies that I cant move.

Are they not desired or ar they limited?

There will always be a market for good quality localities of boas. I would say yes you should breed your South Brazilian boas. South Brazilian babies sell for 250 to 600 dollars depending on there background and how they look.

Take care
Tom

There isnt a huge market... but there is a nice of collectors and breeders that are fanatical about these... myself included...... I would say... if the ones you have are really nice... then breed them.... Nice lookin locale boas tend to sell alot more than mediocre ones....

Here is the big thing to remember about locale boas..... But I do know that Barry has been producing really good ones every year and they dont seem to move as fast as BCC..... I would say... breed them if you think they will turn out exceptional......

I acquired mine from Barry years ago. They are from 2 different pairings. One is very reduced pattern while the other is very rich in color. I think I will pair them up this year. IMO they are very unique and impressive.

Thanks for the input,
Ed

I'm planning on breeding mine....so I can have more South Brazilians!!!! I don't even know if I will part with any of the offspring if I'm lucky enough to have any. But If I do decide to part with some, I know for a fact It will be easier to sell them than say most of the morphs that just can't seem to be moved these days, even though there price is dropping every week it seems (Simmer down morphers!! I Jest, I keep the morphs as well =]). But then again, I'm not in this for the money. It's purely a hobby, and S.B's are my favourite snake. I love them more than ice cream AND Jelly!!!
