june 14th and 16th

varanid Jun 16, 2010 10:08 PM

From the 14th:

On our way into the park

first lizard of the trail (Sceloporus undulatus I guess)

1st horned lizard

Near these:

huge honking grasshopper. I saw a bit of color and was hoping for a racerunner but hey.

Huge creepy spider. bigger than the local tarantulas by a good margin

last horned lizard of that day:

June 16th: I was semi-buzzed, because after a bad day at work I had most of a bottle of wine. My wife drove me to thep ark. Wasn't expecting anything due to weather. The photos are sort of crappy. I was lit, but there was no lighting. Bad mix
1st horned lizard (like a few yards onto the trail)

my hands may not have been the steadiest there....

2nd

3rd

here's why I didn't expect to see anything:

it was off and on drizzly, in the high 60s at the park. I was astonished to see even what we did TBH, but hey.

Cool photo from last week
