What's the funniest thing your Kings...

KangasKritters Jun 21, 2010 11:46 PM

...have tried to eat? Tonight I was "taming" a notorious Cal King biter of mine and he was biting/chewing on everything he came in contact with. First he bit my remote control for the tv, then he bit my beer bottle and then wanted a piece of my cat! He's only as thick as an adults finger and wasn't striking at anything, but as soon as he came upon something he just had to have it. He ate five days ago and obviously is ready for his next meal. thought it was afunny story and made me curious about yours.

Your story brought to mind a funny thing one of my Woma Python girls did last year. She always gets overexcited when I open up her tub and will snap at the air just in case a floating rat happens to pass by. This particular time she snapped at her hide box and would not let go! It took quite a while before she gave up.

I guess she needed a bit more fiber in her diet! Even though she is very food aggressive, she is a super sweet girl when she is out. I just love her to bits!

Found these photos of her as well. She really is a sweet girl!!

BTW, what did your cat do when your snake went after him/her? One of mine would have ran off, while the other two probably would have just given it a funny look.

Great story Aubrey and thanks for sharing the pics. I wish I was hinking camera when I was playing with this guy. The cat wanted a piece of the snake as much as the snake did. Remember, the snake is a 18 month old finger sized king and the cat is much bigger. So I'm sure they would've had fun biting each other for hours. I seriously wouldn't let the cat near any of my reptiles and I did put him away at that point.

It's a tie...I had a Fl. try to eat itself and then I had a speckled try to eat my hand. Keep in mind it was a baby speck...like a few dozen grams.

That's pretty funny! The funniest I have is a florida king that frequently misses the mouse and nails the tweezers. Then it takes me forever to get her off. She's done it several times, no matter how hard I try to maneuver that mouse so she gets it instead of the tweezers. Last night one of my cal kings latched onto my arm when I reached in to get her water bowl. She's a real pet, too, but is real hungry lately after laying her eggs. She let go in a few minutes, like 'oops!' 'did I do that?'
