hi there!Few days ago I got a subadult of gecko gecko. I'd like know something about live plants setup. What kind of it I should use?i'm using a standard glass aquarium as cage, so I'd like to know if I've to put plants directly on the substratum or they must have own box. tnx in advance

You can do it either way. In pots can make cleaning a little easier but its your choice.

Tnx to Darkman. Is there someone thinking in other ways? If i put my living plants directly in the substratum, will the in-excess-water go on the bottom of my tank, causing putrefaction, mould and other unpleasant things? Can i avoid these troubles by taking plants in their own box? Tnx again

Another thought about using pots. I have two large ones in mine and they not only provide a place the geckos climb on, they use them for hiding around the back side and one has become their favorite place place at feeding time. They hang on the pot and ambush crickets as they pass by. I just take the pots out when time to change substrate and replace them easily. Many people do plant in their vivs though, shouldnt be a problem.
