what do you feed your rhinos?

iguanaboi Jun 23, 2010 04:37 PM

i have been trying to give khaos a well rounded diet, and am very curious as to what others feed their rhino iguanas? for greens he gets dandelions, collards, turnips, mustards, swiss chard, curly endives, and bok choy.for his veggies i give him butternut, acorn, chayote, spaghetti, zuchinni and summer squash, yams, cactus pads, sweet peppers, bell peppers, and snow peas. every month i give him a few super worms, mealies and phoenix worms. a couple times a week i give him juvi iguana pellets and tortoise chow also he likes to snack on lentils and dandelions blooms!i dont supplement his food but once every other week 1x for calcium and 1x for vitamins.what about you guys? he is growing well and eats 1-2x every day and sheds very well!

I give all of my rhinos collards and mazuri tortoise chow. The mazuri really puts the weight on them.Soak it in water and mine go nuts for it.

I feed mine Mazuri Tortoise chow exclusively. Great stuff. If you try it, get the Tortoise, not the Iguana...

I feed Mazuri Tortoise Chow mixed with Repti-Cal Iguana Diet with a smigeon of Primte Chow. It seems to be perfect and nothing more is needed...thanks...Proof is in the pudding. I'll virtually have a 100% production in the females with a 99.99% hatch rate....

You mean what is the difference between the two types of greens? Besides being two different species of plant, they have different phosphorous ratios (to calcium) for one important thing. That is a whole 'nother conversation though...is that what you meant by difference?

toffeeman Jun 24, 2010 11:03 PM

no what meant was what are mustard greens and what are collard greens
