Big gravid DH Hondo

robhaneisen Jun 24, 2010 12:01 PM

This girl is about 5.5 feet and obviously has a big clutch in her. This will be her third year laying. Last year she gave me 10 good eggs and she laid 7 the year before. I was able to palpate either 11 or 12 eggs in her this time. The photo was taken three days after her pre-egg lay shed. Oh, and she is het for hypo and albino. I bred her to my 6.5 foot tangerine albino.

Wow, those could be some big hatchlings. Beautiful snake. Any photos of the albino?

Very nice... as always, I have to ask, how are your gaigeae this year? Mine are a couple of weeks behind schedule; the female is just beginning to look gravid, and hasn't even gone into her pre-lay shed yet. It's probably just as well, since I'm planning a trip to Florida Sept. 13-24 (unless the space shuttle launch gets bumped to late October) and probably would have missed the eggs hatching otherwise. Guess I'll see you in April!

Hey Nate,

I'd say my black milk female is plumping up nicely. I weighed her last night and she was at 1,640 grams and very heavy in her lower third. She's probably a couple weeks away from pre-egg lay shed. Last year she laid on July 11 and those eggs hatched on Sept. 19 so I'm probably a little behind that schedule. I'm hoping not to have eggs hatching in October.
