well, i got the job, my first day was yesterday, i didn't quite know how to go about saying soemthing about them, plus it was my first day, so didn't wanna cause trouble you know, but anyways i did manage to talk to this one girl and asked her if they dust the crix, and she said that when they get them in the are in the new room for a coupla days or weeks, but yea, they are dusted in there, so then i asked why they don't dust the ones on the floor, and she was like, well they are normally here for only about 3 days, so dusting isn't really needed, ok, well, i KNOW that some have been there for at least a week or two, umm, should i just maybe try to convince them to put a bowl of calcium in there with them or what?? thanks for the help

Bring a milc cap or some lid from home, and just ask if you can put some calcium in it and put it in there for the geckos. Tell them it will help the store sell more calcium supplement because you can explain to customers that geckos need a dish of calcium at all times, and it will show the store cares about the geckos and treats them right too, which may help them sell more geckos...and of course it is important for the gcko's health as well.

Hello,
Yes, definately try and tell them. Did you read my post below in response to your other post? I worked in "Specialty" for 3 years at petsmart =) and i know that the employees over there have full control over what goes in the tanks. we kept a dish of calcium in with ours, all i had to do was put it in there. basically everyone knew, whatever Melissa did with the reptiles, leave it and make sure it stays that way, lol. Just tell the specialty manager. They should have any problems with putting one in there. Or just find a book on leos and show them where it says its good to put one in there. you shouldnt have a problem, i hope! =)

That really sucks =( i guess it all depends on the store and the employees. But they definately can change whatevers wrong, I dont see why the employees at your petsmart won't. It's not like they arent allowed.

I remember one day i came in and we had just gotten a shipment of new reptiles in, and the manager, who had unpacked them that day, had written off some of that desert blend crap (the walnut shell stuff.) and put all the new guys on it. wheni came in i told her about how worthless that stuff is for the reptiles she put them on, and all she said was "Oh, ok i didnt know, i just used it because its the cheapest stuff to write off." so she helped me get it all out of there and change it to the way it should be. Its just that easy. it just really frustrates me hearing stories of other petsmarts who simply refuse to do the right thing, when they can!
