Splendida just laid

herplover1978 Jun 25, 2010 07:50 PM

Hi, I picked up a desert king about a month ago and she just laid 6 eggs. I filled a butter container with a vermiculite/coconut husk combination and got it damp and placed the eggs in it. The eggs were all stuck together, should I separate them? I plan on keeping them at around 80, is that the right temp? Is it okay if it drops below that at night? Is it okay to be hotter during the day?

Thanks!
Josh

Don't separate them. Leave them in a clump. 80 is good. It's ok to go lower at night.....I would not let them go over 85. By the way, you better hope that last egg come out. It looks awfully big. mike b

It came out, didn't get a picture after, I was a little occupied with getting the eggs transferred. I am so excited! This is my first experience with breeding. I just wand everything to go well!

Thanks!

Those eggs look huge for that snake, lol. Glad they all came out fine. Did yo pair her up or was she gravid when you got her?
