Mexican Hognose laying

bbox Jun 26, 2010 12:31 AM

I keep seeing all of these photos of everyone's hognose hatching and mine are still laying eggs! Oh well, I cycle mine on their natural cycle for North Texas. It is just a lot easier on me. Anyway, I have taken a ton of photos of my alterna laying eggs over the years, but I think that this is the first time that I have taken ones of one of my hognose laying. I hope that you enjoy.

Thanks for looking.

It is funny that you ask. I went to bed when she was at 22 (I removed them all before I went to bed) and she obviously had a couple more to go. When I checked on her the next day, no more eggs. She must have eaten the remaining eggs.
The largest clutch of kennerlyi that I have ever had is 26. Most of mine lay large clutches. So far this year, I have had clutches of 16,19,19, and 22 with a few more snakes still to go. My best layer is due in a couple of days.

Outstanding photos... I was hoping to catch my female in the act, but no such luck...

Congrats on the clutch...
