Surprise!!

CBH Jun 26, 2010 08:58 AM

Hey all,

So I thought I would give breeding hognose a try. I purchased 1.3 possible hets but only received 1 good egg out of more than 30 laid by the females. Well, the single egg is hatching!!!

I am a sand boa guy so it is exciting to see an egg hatch!!

Cheers,
Chris

Unlucky about the 30 plus eggs being bad but very lucky for hitting the odds on the possible hets!!! That one hypo kinda makes up for it...

Very nice...

Thanks all!! It is about time I had some good 'luck'! Been having a bunch of bad luck the last few weeks.

Thanks,
Chris

You can't ever count on good eggs. It's not luck, it's life.
Hitting the 1:4 odds with 2 poss. Hets and only one egg, that's luck!!

very nice! I know the feeling Chris, eggs can add a phase of excitement that live birth cannot.

I had a het to het albino litter in which the female ate a bunch of the eggs, only saved five and all five are albinos! Also very lucky.
