Dinker eggs

SlytherLyn Jun 26, 2010 09:49 AM

I'd almost given up on my dinker girl laying eggs this year. She was put with her son several times from January to May but I only saw a few locks, didn't know if it was enough. Unfortunately I was not checking on her daily so when I discovered the eggs they were a little dry and dented, might have been laid a few days earlier. I sure hope they will be OK. She laid 3 big eggs. 417 grams total weight for the clutch. They are long eggs.

I purchased her and her son from a local breeder last summer. He originally hand picked her from a large group of imported African babies because of her unusual look and clear belly. He bred her to a pastel male and kept back the most unusual looking male, which is the male she was bred to this year.

The eggs are in the incubator now, hoping the delay in finding them didn't do any damage to them. I feel a bit behind in this game. Everyone else is posting hatchling pics and I'm still just getting eggs... Can't wait to be able to post my own hatchling pics. This is my first year breeding balls. I'm hooked...
