looking for live pinks/fuzzies in NY

ADAMTODD Jun 26, 2010 02:58 PM

Just picked up a stunning female Flame Hypo Brooks King from Kevin Maxwell. I am in Hoboken , NJ and need a consistent source for live pinks /fuzzies in the NY , NJ area . Wife is not having frozen rodents in the fridge ! The rest of my collection are either on large mice or large rats which are no problem .Any help in a solution would be greatly appreciated !!! If you want amazing high end gorgeous Kings , Kevin not only does great, great work but was as hospitable and helpful as anyone I have dealt with in the industry . John Skager was another great breeder doing amazing work with Kings who was unbelievably helpful and passionate about his work with Kings . (Amazing Goini's! ) Just felt obligated to share both of these good guys with all of you on K.S. ! Thanks for checking out my post .

Kevin is absolutely awesome. When I lived in NY I would get frozen rodents from Dave Prada at Komodo Reptiles--he's usually at the White Plains show, but I haven't lived in NY for two years now. I believe (but am not 100% sure) he can also do live.

Thanks for responding and yes Kevin is one class act . What beautiful work he produces and how rare in any industry you come across such care and hospitality. I will check out Komodo and see if they do live and not only frozen. Much thanks!

can you buy a cheapo small freezer for your garage, or carport, utility room, etc..?. They are only just over $100 bucks at certain discount appliance outlets.

I assure you this will pay for itself in short order as opposed to going through the hassle of going and getting live all the time. I used to raise lots of rodents, but I simply cannot do it now where I live.

Along with the much lower cost, convenience, no odor, no gas consumption, etc..., it is the only way to roll for me for many years now.

Of course I know you are meaning about where to get them for your snake to eat NOW basically,....I just meant about switching to frozen sometime in the near future if at all possible..LOL!

good luck!

Thanks Doug . I have seen the small freezers . I live in a large apartment complex and do have a storage room but I also have a .....let's say a very ....vocal Latina wife ! hahaha!!!! Frozen rodents is kind of not happening ..ever! LOL ! I basically do just need to get the baby King through to small mice and I'm cool. The rest of my collection are all on larger feed . I will keep looking but thanks for the reply !

Dude it took me months to get my wife to agree to mice in the freezer. I have Florida kings, there's no way you'll want to feed em live. the cost and you'll be making many trips when they get bigger.
I started puttign the frozen mice in bags in the freezer so my wife wouldn't have to look at them every time she opened the freezer.

I can concur that Dave at Komodo is a good source, as well as Michael Hano who also offers some live as well, but in smaller quantity....depends on how much you need I suppose. Cantact me if you'd like to get his #.

Thank you Jerry for the leads . I only need the pinks/fuzzies for the one Hypo Flame Brooks baby . The rest of my girls are on larger feed . If I could order every week or so smaller quantities , do you think Michael Hano would better handle the smaller orders?
If so I would appreciate his contact info . Should I contact you through your site link? Again thank you for taking the time to help.

Jerry ..... Just took a look at your site . Really beautiful work your doing . It is always of interest to me to find the individuals foundation. The roots of their appreciation and respect for serpents and the natural connection that comes from our childhoods imagination and curiosities . Then grows with our explorations , as we grow from inspiration. Clearly you have been inspired , yet managed to hold on to the imagination of youth in exploring further the possibilities of what initially you found to be so beautiful. Keep dreaming and connecting !
