It's always great when you have a hatchling that you really want to hold back, and that hatchling eats the first time it is offered food and has the best feeding response out of the whole clutch.

Hey Andy that was too easy. It's no fun without a challenge. LOL.
Last year I hatched 7 pink pastels and 3 of them ate unscented the first day out of the incubator. The other 4 ate within 3 days. Their mother was a voracious eater. I believe that trait can be passed on to their progeny.

Yes I also believe this to be true. Last year het to het albino and 95% were like the sire very hard to get to eat so I sold him as a picky feeder. This year my anaconda to my het female and every one of the offspring were like the adults, SHARKS right from the get go.

Seems like a great feeding breeder produce offspring with a great feeding respond. Perhaps it is possible to eleminate the tricky feedingbehavior this way in some years?
So this is a real challenge for all of us
